She has been on various project management teams and committees throughout the years dealing with everything from Reg B to Reg Z which gives her that broad banking knowledge. As she has grown into the commercial lending field she continues to take continuing education to enhance her lending skills. Being involved in the community and keeping up with current events happen by participating in local Chamber of Commerce events, meetings and networking functions.

Shelly has an active family life with a husband also in banking and 3 children ranging in ages from pre-school to college. Keeping the home life running smooth is her top priority as she strives for an equal balance between work and home. The older kids are and have always been active in school and sport activities keeping everyone busy.

Volunteering is also important and she has given her hand in relay for life walks, school functions, PTA's, boy scouts, ski teams and habitat for humanity to name some. This year the Bank has sponsored a week for the Twins Cities Habitat for Humanity and she will be putting on a tool belt for a day to help the cause. Last year she put on a tool belt for the Habitat for Humanity Women Build, again sponsored by the Bank, which was a home that was built totally by women. BankCherokee supports and encourages volunteering which makes it even more fun.
